First impressions are everything
I'm sure most or all of us grew up hearing, “don't judge a book by its cover". But, the truth is, we can't help it!. The human brain is wired to judge everything the moment we lay eyes on it. First impressions are everything. For humans, it's a means of survival and not just a shallow way to write off people, places, and a myriad of other things we interact with. We know that a book can strike our attention for several reasons, maybe the colors and illustrations draw us in or maybe we heard amazing reviews from friends we trust. Either way, there is a unique formula to what draws us to the many things we adore. At WWS, we believe the key to picking up the book or leaving it behind to collect dust on the bookshelf comes down to amazing design that piques the curiosity of the reader and great writing to keep the reader's attention.
We as humans crave shiny and interesting visuals
By this point, we also understand the extreme importance of great design and branding to set a company or org apart from the competition. Just like any book at the bookstore or library, we as humans crave shiny and interesting visuals. Marketers have known this since the beginning of time and use it to their advantage.
